Suncast SHA150B 150-Foot Capacity Garden Hose Hosemobile Reel Cart, Mocha/Taupe
I've have used hose reel carts for many years. I needed an additional cart. After spending time reviewing my opinions I selected the Suncast SHA150B. It was very easy to setup. Unfortunately, I do not like the position and length of the hand crank. It's difficult to reel in a hose on a grass surface. I even have had problems reeling an empty 100 ft hose that I placed on my concrete driveway.
This is the first purchase from Amazon.com that I have rated so low.

This hose reel is sturdy enough, but the connectors restrict the flow of water drastically. It is pretty expensive.
Reel King RK-6000 Self-Retracting Hose Reel with 65 feet of 1/2-inch Garden Hose
The unit is well made and looks sleek and professional mounted on the house. Installation was easy but it just doesn't do what I really needed it to do, retract the hose. The recoil spring is weak. If the hose is under pressure it only recoils so far then you have to fiddle with it to get it the rest of the way in. Shutting the water off and releasing the pressure in the hose helps but it still could be a lot better. I've been using wall mounted, hand operated winders for years now and wanted this retractor to make things easier but it was a disappointment.

I purchased this item from Lowes. I had to fix the leaky problem which was nothing more than tightening an allen hex screw. My problem is the tires. All the tubes are rotten and the tires are flat. I do not understand the advantage of having tires that hold air. It is not an off road unit. Fairly good solid rubber would function just fine. I would not recommend this item unless you have the ambition to store it indoors whenever it is not in use. I am sure that sitting outside exposed to the sun and weather is probably going to cause premature part(s) failure.
Ames True Temper 2388100 65-Foot Cassette Hose King Reel
Before we got thru the first season with this product, it was leaking water from the inner connection. We've tried uncoiling the hose to it's fullest extent so we could make adjustments to the leaking connection, but to no avail. We just could not stop the water from pouring out of that connection, no matter what we tried to do. What a waste of water! We're looking for a replacement product, or a less leaky way to store the hose itself.

I loved the design of this product and I was looking forward to having a better hose reel.....but I was very dessapointed when it arrived in the mail. It is so small, it cannot accomodate a regular US garden hose. Maybe in Italy where it was made is OK, but not by American standards. Loved the design, very dessapointed of the small size of it.
Yard Butler HT-2EZ 2-Wheeled Garden Hose Truck with 200-Foot Hose Capacity
I had high hopes for this item, but I should have kept looking. Item arrived in an undamaged shipping box. Yet, during assembly, I found the hand crank could not be inserted into the reel housing as the receiving piece was BENT. This was not shipping damage, but was damage prior to being placed into the box. Fortunately, I have some skills, so I was able to reshape the receiver.
Now that it is assembled, I find it to be very flimsy. Says it will hold 200 feet of hose. Don't believe it unless you are using very flimsy 1/2 inch hose.
Would not buy this product. Keep Looking.

Overall I'm happy with that hose cart
Pros:
- Holds 300 feet of hose without any problem
- Price is reasonable
- Heavy and sturdy. Big wheels roll over uneven ground without any problem
Cons:
- The way the wheels are attached isn't the best, the cart doesn't roll in a straight line. Not a biggie, just annoying
- The connector hose is of poor quality, I have fairly high water pressure at home and when shutting off water at the end of the hose rather than at the hose bib, the connector hose will not sustain the pressure building inside the hose. It burst in several places. After a couple of patches I ended up throwing it away and replacing it with a good quality hose, It hasn't failed me since.

I was skeptical about using this product although most reviews are pretty good. When it arrived in the mail I immediately tried it out and it was so much easier to cut the grass. The instructions are very easy and clear and once you sharpen your lawn mower blades it will be even easier to do in the future since you won't have to go step by step in the manual.

Suncast RSCS100D 100-Foot Water Powered Automatic Rewinding Swivel Garden Hose Reel
I've had this for two years now. The most positive part is it does rewind well! To keep the water tube on I had to add a hose clamp but it rewinds fine. The plastic guide doesn't work anymore and the hose has never been that easy to pull out of the reel. Word of caution. YOu really need to anchor the base with the stakes they give you. I've got mine sitting on concrete and that creates a different set of problems. If your going to sit is on the lawn obviously you can push the stakes into the grass.

This is our second Ames bronze wall mount hose reel. The first is displayed in the front yard, this purchase is in the back yard. Don't bother with other reels as this is so durable and attractive. I use the small shelf on top of the reel to hold a hose nozzle, or fertilizer i'm going to use with my water from the garden hose-very handy. Easy to install. It's a great addition to our home.

I have two of these hose hangers: one outside, and one mounted inside my garage for winter storage. The one outside has been in use for 10+ years without any damage.
I've found hose-carts and hose-reels are always a pain, getting jammed, rolling up unevenly, having the feed tube to the faucet pop off-- my last hose-reel would have that tube come loose during use, requiring me to shut off the water, unwind the entire hose, reattach the tube in the center of the reel, and then reel the hose back up. That created way more work than the reel saved.
This simple hanger doesn't have any moving parts and lets you coil the hose as neatly or as messily as you want. No having to get the wraps nice and even so the hose will fit on the cart!
Hoses are an annoyingly cumbersome part of home-care: smashing the grass, getting in the way of mowers, heavy and dirty to move around. This product makes dealing with them easier, and is Highly Recommended.Suncast 175-Foot Capacity Hosemobile Garden Hose Reel Cart, Bronze/Taupe JNF175B
POORLY MADE! After one year and moderate use,the plastic part on the side of the cart to which the short hose connects(the one that came with the cart) shoots out of the cart under the pressure of the water and water gushes through the hole.
American Lawn Mower 1ST-SP Reel Mower Grass Catcher
I was very hesitant to purchase this grass catcher, given previous reviews, but I couldn't find another grass catcher that would work with my Scotts 20" reel mower. Not expecting much, I was surprised at how easy it was to assemble. All I had to do was squeeze four hooks into loops with a pair or pliers. To attach to my mower, all I had to do was clip it onto the axle of the back stabilizer wheels. I'm thinking that maybe the American Lawn Mower company made updates on the grass catcher, but mine had a plastic/rubber clip running along the bottom that attaches to the axle, and the hook to put onto the bar of the handles. Nothing to it.
For the actual mowing, my nine year old son was even able to push the mower with the bag hitting his legs or getting in his way. Yes, we moved the bag to the left, as noted in previous reviews, and yes, it's true that it doesn't catch every scrap of grass, but our needs are to gather MOST of the grass so it doesn't get weighed down with clippings.
Emptying the catcher is slightly awkward, as we ended up scooping with our hands, but you can easily detach the catcher and empty into a bag.
Overall, this grass catcher rated WAY higher than I ever anticipated, and works much better and with fewer issues than I thought.

There's a fixture where the short green feeder-tube connects to the axel that is held togeather by two tiny clips of plastic about as wide as a paperclip. If these peices get stressed (say by tugging on the hose even a little bit) they break and the feeder hose falls out of the reel.
The problem is: It's a fragile part, there is no replacement available, there's no way to repair it, and it's only a matter of time before it fails. And that's unforgivable.
Save your $35 and spend it on something else.
I won't buy another Suncast product the rest of my life.

I bought 2 of these 3 years ago. The first year it worked great. Last year the units had problems rewinding. This year 1 unit will not rewind at all and I had to take the other unit apart to get the hose off it was so tangled. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

I know, I know, it's a ridiculous price to pay for a hose. But this is the iPhone of water spray. Very few presents I have given my my designy/handy husband have made him happier. It's as if someone sat down and really thought, what would make a hose really good? Let's do that. We don't have a lot of space, and the retractable thing is just a marvel. The winder guide moves back and forth so the hose winds evenly. The whole unit swivels so it fits almost anywhere. You can just take it off and bring it inside for the winter. All the spray attachments are a snap to use. We have a lot of windows which nobody ever wanted to clean...until we got the hose. I can see myself giving my husband the many cool accessories and doodads that come with it for the next several birthdays and christmases.
