Gilmour 27 Series Water Weeper & Soft Soaking Hose 5/8-Inch x 250 Feet 27-58250 Black
Uncoiling the hose was a task. Any 90 degree bends will make it tear. I ended up getting 6 coupling because of that. Plus the fittings shown in the picture weren't included.
Pirit Water Line PWL-02-25 25 Foot Heated Water Hose
We are currently using this hose on our RV in New England. We have experienced temperatures down to 0 degrees with out any problems. This hose has been worth its wait in gold and has left us with water when others have lost it. I would highly recommend it. It is not only safe but easy to use. We like it so much we bought a 50 foot one also.
Orbit 27290 Hose Protector with Coil Spring
The metal end pieces on this item appear to be the cheap "hose kit" kind that will fall apart when any kind of stress is placed on them. The spring, however, appears to be OK, and the hose plastic is the kind with embedded fibers.
Overall opinion: Not impressed, as I have had bad luck with these kind of hose fittings before.
Will update the review at a later date, as only time will tell if this item has any durability.

The end connectors on this hose only have an interior deminsion of 1/2"; therefore, the flow rate will not be a great as a true 5/8" hose. There are hoses available with the correct end connection sizes. I returned this hose.

I really like this hose- what a nice difference from the regular kind. 3 things I really like about it:
1. coils up nicely, you don't need something to store or wind the hose and it doesn't get tangled up or kinked
2. has nice long "tails" on either end make it easier to hook up to the faucet (this is a problem with cheaper coiled hoses)
3. appears to be lead free so it is healthy to use on my veggies, berries and plants, and I don't have to worry about the dog drinking up water from the hose
It is an expensive investment, but well worth it for a sturdy worry-free product!

While the soaker hose is adequate and works fine, the caps they put on the end of these hoses are defective or just plain poorly designed. When you use a soaker hose, it takes hours to work. I have had this one, two times now, pop the cheap plastic end cap after about an hour. The result is nothing gets soaked except what is at the end of the hose and it gets drowned.
Don't buy these, they are defective junk and if you buy them mail order they will be expensive to return. Hours of running water to drown your plants is not the way to go.

First of all, the price isn't horrible. I bought two for $[...]. The cheaper soaker hoses are available for less, but I have not seen these for less than about $15, and I needed two anyway so I bought a 2 pack. And the shipping is free for the two, so the dude that complained has no clue. These things are heavy and expensive to ship!
They soak as well as soaker hoses can. They are well made, the hardware is solid, and the flow distribution excellent. I did have one complaint, the cap on the end came off easy the first time and spewed water out the end. It could have been loose, but it wasn't easy to put on firmly when I replaced it.
Getting them to uncurl is annoying, but I am assuming that is normal. You have to run them a while and the curls gradually work themselves out letting you thread them through the garden more easily.
I have seen people complaining that various soaker hoses are slow. That is a general characteristic. You are asking your water system to disperse water over 50 feet, not out of a single spigot. So it takes patience. It also takes gallons and gallons of water to deep soak an entire garden.
I set them up for my wife for fool-proof watering of my garden. She just plugs in the main hose and turns it on (I used plastic fast connectors), a Y and 2 soaker hoses.
Anyway, the quality is great and the hoses should last for years. End cap is cheap and concerns me. I would give it four stars, but the guy with one star has to be undone.
Apex 8640-75 NeverKink Extra Heavy Duty 3000 5/8-Inch-by-75-Foot Hose
A very stiff, extra heavy duty hose. Most customers would be happier with the series 2000 heavy duty NeverKink hose, which does kink on occasion but is very flexible and easy to use and store on a hose holder. But when I bought the series 3000 (11-23-08) it was only $25 and they wanted $41 for the series 2000 (go figure!). I give this one 5 stars for durability but only 2 stars for usability; 3 stars overall. (The 2000 series rates 4 stars for both durability and usability.)
Gardena 8569 Classic 165-Foot x 1/2-Inch Skin Tech Anti-Kink Garden Hose
This hose addresses every complaint I have about almost all garden hoses. Most are too heavy or kink very easily. The Gardena hose is very lightweight but also very durable. It is so light that dragging it through landscaping won't damage your plants. It coils very easily, looks good and is very well made. It is highly resistant to kinking. I first bought a shorter length and when I saw how well it performed, I ordered the 50 meter (165 ft) size.

I'm sure this is a great hose in terms of functional quality, but it is not as pictured on the website. It has yellow stripes down the ENTIRE hose. For me, I wanted something that would look better and less conspicuous in my yard, so I am returning it and getting a hose from Home Depot. I'm a HUGE amazon fan... but somebody got the picture wrong on this one.

Heavy weight, solid brass, (nickel plated), fittings and sturdy metal clamps make this a repair kit for both ends of your hose that won't leak and that you will never have to replace. These parts are re-usable from one hose to the next. I'll never buy another inexpensive 'alloy' fitting with its sharp helical screw, automotive type, hose strap again, or for that matter, another hose repair kit!

Very well made I think it will hald up we will see put for the price it is very nice. it does not kink easy at all and the ends are very well put togeather but it is still new lets see how it holds up after the summer is over!!
Gilmour Weeper/Soaker Hose 25-Foot 27025G
This works great, already bought more for my home. I have these position in my yard in those awkward hard to reach area. Set them up permanently so all i have to do is turn on the hose. Depending on the pressure is how much water leaks, so it's in your control. They come in a variety of sizes and can attach to each other just like a hose, so if you buy one too short, you can just buy another and connect it. I've used drip systems with all the small stupid parts that constantly breaking, but never again. Things that work, this is one of them!
